Do Your Own Commercial Energy Audit and Instantly Pocket More Money[Part 1]

What Is The Average Cost Of A Commercial Energy Audit?

The term "Green" is everywhere.  There are companies everywhere now that offer energy audits, but what do you really get with an audit?

Is it worth $8,000 to $12,000 just to have an analysis of a 55,000 square foot building?

Seems like a lot of money, but according to www.green-buildings.com the average cost of an energy efficient audit ranges from $8,000 to $12,000 and some estimates of .10 and .12 cents per square feet.  That seems like a lot of money for a report.  I realize that these reports are very sophisticated and cover a lot of territory.  Is there any ROI in a report?

How-to-do-your-own-commercial-energy-audit-save-moneyHere Is How You Can Instantly Pocket More Money.....

Learn how to do a commercial energy audit yourself, save the $8,000, $12,000 or $20,000 and put it into your pocket.

If you have that kind of cash, put it into actually making the improvements, not a pile of paper telling you what to do.

The savings comes from changing out your infrastructure, not talking about it.

What Is Your Time Worth?

Let's say you spend $10,000 to have the audit completed.  If you took about 50 hours, you would be able to evaluate the majority of your electrical systems in your facility (of course this depends on the size of the facility).

If you spent 50 hours doing this yourself, you would make $200 per hour.  Not bad.  Is it hard to do?

Not That Difficult, Simple Math Really

You may not be able to analyze your air flow, or tell you about your storm water requirements, but we can tell you to look up at the lights first, before anything else.

Your lighting is likely costing you dearly.

Start With Lighting

Lighting accounts for nearly 40% of a buildings cost.  Motors typically make up another 20-30% so most of your electrical costs are tied up in lighting and motors.

The first "How To Do Your Own Commercial Energy Audit" series is going to focus on lighting, but we will be bringing you motors in the very near future.
